Break!? What Break?!?

This is a long post.
BE
PRE
PARED!!!

So, last weekend (and pretty this week as well) was very idea heavy in terms of the overall scope of where I want to go with my career and planning out how I'm going to be working on my portfolio this year as well as (eventually) forming my own business.

As far as portfolio goes, the projects I'm working on through this blog are going towards that, as well as at least 1 project that I'm working on with with my amigos. Next semester, I'd like to challenge myself to make a small game each month so 4 total (Jan-April). Another venue of my journey and its documentation include my GitHub.
[Brief Rant: Why is GitHub weirdly complicated? After using TortoiseSVN to interact with the repo for my friend's project, it's just so much less cumbersome to get in and do what you need to do!]

Now on the business idea, I've always wanted to own my own game studio. Always. After seeing so much in the area of not only indie games, but also in the in startup communities around the country is that there is no reason that I can't do that now! I've taken a financial literacy class and I have the financial guru Dave Ramsey and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (Sponsored by Google) as local resources and it's as really is just a click away (YOU CAN FILE FOR AN LLC ONLINE!).
I've changed my tumblr to g-oo-d-dreams.tumblr.com as I'm trying to figure out how to brand myself and my company....

Hack Nashville is this weekend! I'm nervous and excited... but if I don't get anything, I know I'll come out of this weekend with a new shirt!
*Update*
I'm here and everything is lovely! The Entrepreneur Center and The Bistro at Emma are preeeety nice, man! So much geeky, hackery, creative, go getter, mover and shaker people here!!!
It was a little awkward for me at first, but after the main project/idea/announcement phase, I met Chris from the Nashville Game Developers Group and I stalked the heck out of the tumblr and facebook group after he spoke of it. That and the little developing group at TSU are 2 of my main sub concerns for the rest of the school year after my actual projects themselves.
So, after being reinvigorated, from this news of local devs to draw from, I set forth that Round the Block will be my labor of love for the weekend. Check it out periodically through the weekend and I'll try to post updates on progress.
Quick note of the night, I've gotten the ball movement closer to where I want it and I'm working on a background slideshow system for the levels.

Also, Shout out to the Indie Scene in Kentucky! I don't even live there, but one stray link and I find out a whole bunch of devs and meetups they have around Louisville and Lexington.
Here's a link to different tools other Indie/Student/Aspiring Devs can learn and use to create their own Dreams: http://runjumpdev.org/indie-game-tools/

Oh yeah, I got a shirt!

Good Dreams!
